The Thompson Atlanta is a modern boutique hotel, owned by Hyatt, and located in Buckhead. Buckhead is a residential area in Georgia that is home to several upscale malls and independent art galleries. This luxury hotel features over 200 rooms and suites with magnificent views of the Atlanta skyline and Buckhead. The hotel opened in 2021 making it relatively new.

Parking

During our stay, we opted to do valet parking mainly for convenience. However, be prepared to pay $50 per night, unless you are a globalist staying on points. If you would rather find a cheaper alternative, there is a garage located near the hotel as well as street parking.

Dog Policy

The Thompson Atlanta is super pet friendly and very welcoming to your furry friends. There is no pet fee, which is obviously a huge plus, since most hotels charge you. 

Restaurant – Dirty Rascal

As a globalist, you are able to receive free breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant Dirty Rascal. On the weekdays, you may order anything you would like from the breakfast menu, but on the weekends, you can order anything you want from the brunch menu. We personally liked eating from the brunch menu because there were more items to choose from. Some of our favorite items off of the brunch menu were the baby gem Caesar salad, tomato soup with truffle grilled cheese, grandma’s ravioli, and burrata. On the weekdays, some of our favorite items were the steak and eggs and the pastry basket, but it was a limited menu.

Overall Hotel Rating

We would rate this hotel 4.8/5 stars because they provided us with excellent service and honored our globalist status. They also didn’t charge us for bringing our dog, which is a huge plus and we didn’t have to pay the resort fee. We received a free room upgrade to a suite as well as a free rollaway bed. The suite had two rooms with a king bed and a sofa bed, as well as a rain shower. On top of that, the free breakfast everyday was excellent and was made to order. We highly recommend this hotel for your next visit to Atlanta especially if you are a globalist or are looking to stay at a nice luxury hotel.
